Gearn Live Bottom Bin for handling difficult materials.
The Gearn Live Bottom Bin is available in stainless steel or mild steel and in two different sizes, 2,000 or 4,000 cubic feet. This bin will move hard to handle material such as hot, wet, steam flaked grain and other materials of like nature. The bin is pyramidal in shape with log rolls and full auger live bottom beneath the log rolls. The bin can be designed to handle materials up 60 lb. per cubic foot and discharge rates up to 7,000 lb. per minute. The standard bin is 30 ft tall and rectangular in shape. The 4,000 cubic foot model has seven gear boxes to move the material. The basic design consist of 9 tapered augers across the base of the bin with the load above being carried by heavy wall flighted log rolls. The 9 augers are driven with 5 individual shaft mount gear drives. The six log rolls have two heavy duty foot mount gear drives. This is a total of only 40 H.P. The bin can be center discharge or end discharge. Once the material moves it pulls away from the side wall which helps prevent bridging of sticky products. Steamed / cooked, hot flaked grain is one of the hardest of materials to store and move. The Gearn live bottom bin enables you to move and meter even this product with confidence. The Gearn Clam Bottom Bin The Gearn Clam Bottom Bins utilize the same pyramidal style as the Live Bottoms, and is mounted over a drive. The bin compartment is 7' by 14' and 30' tall. The approximate holding capacity of the compartment is 80,000 lbs. of 28 lbs. material per cubic foot. The top of each bin has a open bar grate top of ventilation to cut down on bin sweating. Hydraulic operated door system has a complete pressure compensated hydraulic package with electrical controls placed for easy operations. The hydraulic cylinders will have the Gearn main frame trunnion mounted cylinders with double side walls.
