Gearn Flash Cut Saw The Flash Cut Abrasive cut-off saws are designed and built to handle those difficult cut-off operations encountered daily in machine, maintenance, repair and production shops. They are especially suited for cutting off materials that cannot be cut on a Blade type machine. Flash Cut abrasive saws handle with ease stainless steel tubing as well as cast iron, and steel pipe. They cut steel cables, armored hose, leaf springs, large hard bolts, tool shanks, shear blades, car axles and many similar "tough" tasks. Equipped with a metal cutting blade, they are especially suited for cutting off aluminum extrusions, plastic rods and many non-ferrous metals. Cutting time is measured in Seconds instead of minutes. Constructional Features To eliminate vibration and to assure smooth operation, the Flash Cut is of extra heavy construction. The base is fabricated of thick steel plate. The boom and vise support is 1" thick! The boom arm supporting the motor and spindle housing is heavy steel tubing eliminating whip and sway. The saw boom is balanced for tireless operation. The diameter of the spindle between bearings is 1-1/2" with 1" arbor to support the wheel. The spindle runs on precision ball bearings lubricated for life. A motor of standard make is used. Multiple v-belts transmit the full power to the spindle. Heavy steel guards protect the operator. The vise is quick acting. On the Swivel Vise type the vise itself turns to a full 45 degrees. On the Turn Head type the blade turns a full 60 degrees.
