Gearn Soft Breeze Flake Cooler
The Gearn Super Soft Breeze ® Grain Cooler, is our largest cooler to date and is designed for maximum utilization of air flow across as well as around each flake. The flaked grain rides on a galvanized or optional stainless steel tray system that allows just the right amount of air to flow around the flake without letting the flake pull from the tray. The trays have a unique interlock edge seal with the next tray then the ends of the trays are sealed with a high temperature flexible seal so all air movement is directed around the flaked grain and not wasted. The coolers can be ordered with our optional dry steam heating system to assure a dry product even under very humid conditions. This option will dry the incoming air so it can carry more moisture from the flake. The control system can be equipped with an automatic moisture and temperature monitoring system or an easy to use manual system. Either will assure a product with a desired moisture level giving you an acceptable shelf life. The flake will discharge at 700 to 1200 F. depending on ambient temperatures and with a moisture under 15% if required. For ease of maintenance we have eliminated the elaborate chain drive systems found in older design models. We accomplish this by having a dual drive system with two gear motor units matched to an electronic invert controller. The dual drive system helps regulate the flake flow through the cooler, controlling both grain depth on each pass of the cooler as well as ultimate exit moisture. Giving us far fewer moving parts to maintain. The large capacity Soft Breeze ® is designed for both the 24" X 48" and 24" X 56" Gearn Super Flaking Mills with approximately 14 to 18 tons per hour capacity depending on incoming moisture of the flake and mill size.. The Gearn Soft Breeze ® Cooler, can be purchased with stainless steel or galvanized trays which are a full 6' wide and are housed in a cabinet is over 32 ft. in length. The cooler is designed to collect it's own fines and return them to the out going flake or as an option we offer a bottom cone pan which collects the fines and augers them out of the cooler so they maybe separated from the final production flake. These features are real plus for house keeping and also stops the problem of constant cleaning of the bottom cooler tray and puts valuable product back into the production flow or captures smaller particles with the least amount of labor and product damage. The air flow is supplied by a single 60 to 75 h.p. New York Blower, engineered for specific needs of the customer, taking into consideration the average ambient temperatures, incoming flake moisture, altitude of the facility for air density and desired exit moisture. As an option we offer our twin 31' tall X 8' diameter high volume cyclone system either in stainless steel or carbon steel. The twin system takes the moisture laden air and separates out moisture as well as grain particles caught in the air stream. To connect the cyclones to the fan and plenum of the cooler we use 30" duct fabricated from 12 ga. stainless or galvanized material designed to fit the application. The quality and craftsmanship is unsurpassed as these machines are hand built to exacting quality standards for years of trouble free service with the least amount of maintenance.
