The Gearn Modular Mill double 8000 Triple G dairy

The Gearn Modular Mill unit is made of these components, 13'x48' all steel skid covered with 10ga. deck plate and sealed on the underside with urethane foam insulation. The unit contains two Gearn 18" x 36" rolls complete with a new dual drive system using two 30 hp electric motors for extreme conditions, a stainless steel peg feeders with hydraulic motor, quick mount belt guards, swing open chain guard, pneumatic isolation mounts and rubber pad shock mounts. The heavy frame of the Gearn roll makes it a very rigid machine which means a more consistent flake and a longer life machine.  We go to great lengths to make sure that the rolls are absolutely parallel. The slightest amount of misalignment will cause flake damage.  The only way to assure alignment is with a very heavy frame which has been machined in and not just welded, which is the only way our competitors make theirs.

Above each roll will be a rail system for removing the rolls from the mills. Gearn mills have the added feature that both rolls come out the front of the mills.  The 30' by 43" round Gearn steam chest have 5 level steam controls with built in grain level control for maximum and minimum grain level.  This automatically keeps the steam chest full of grain and if the unit runs out of grain it will open the rolls to help prevent damage to the roller mills.  If one mill runs out the controller will open the rolls to both units. The steam chest is fully weather proofed, insulated, and sealed. Each steam chest and mill has a steam vent system which prevents steam buildup in the roll room and mill building. The vent system is made up of a peg feeder, stainless steel transition, heavy material separator, and a stainless steel 10" vent stack.  This vent stack is 30' tall to help draw the steam out of the peg feeder, separate the solids and moisture, and vent the live steam. The steamchest is charged by a 1,000 bushel Gearn elevator leg, which is of solid case design for ease of belt retrieval. The leg is equipped with a Dodge gear box and is powered by a 5 h.p. TEFC motor.  The leg has a vulcanized head pulley and a winged self cleaning boot pulley. The discharge of the leg is mounted a Gearn 1,000 bushel scalper with magnetic separator to remove ferrous metal objects. The scalper comes with one screen for corn and will drop out rocks of 3/4" diameter or greater and remove most of the stalks, fines and bees wings which remain in the corn.  The mill unit comes with a 3 pump hydraulic system, one pressure compensated pump for holding roll pressure, one pump for each mill to control the grain flow to each mill through the peg feeder.  This unit has a 5 h.p. TEFC motor with direct drive and belt drive to the pumps.  All the electrical wiring is complete and includes an industrial motor control center and will be configured to include all the motors in the project which will require 250 h.p. on 460v 3 phase electricity with a 400 amp main breaker.  The boiler is a 125 h.p. double pass boiler with electronic controls and will meet all applicable boiler codes. The boiler unit comes complete with a preheated boil make water tank with boiler feed pump, water level control, overflow plumbing and venting, and custom designed water softener to pretreat the water for hardness. The boiler will require separate chemical treatment which is to be provided by the customer and will be serviced by a boiler chemical company. The entire mill building will be insulated with fiber glass insulation and covered with colored or white R-panel which will match the covering on the steam chests this color may be selected by the customer.  The Single mill unit has the same size boiler and room for the second mill to be installed. Also available is a non-expandable unit. You can add a grain treatment application auger which is 24' X 12" stainless steel trough, and cut and folded extra heavy 12" carbon steel screw and an upgrade on the charge leg, which goes to the steamchest, to stainless steel. There is a lease option available on our systems. Grain must be brought to the unit starting at the scalper and flake taken away to some type of storage these are not part of the lease package.

Remember our systems are fully customizable.  We'll set them up the way that  suits the site.
